A Europe for the people, by the people, and of the people | My vision for Europe | Krishnaraj

Today Europe stands at an important point in History. The decision that Europeans are going to take will not only determine the future of Europeans, but also the future of the entire world. Some of the problems that Europe is facing are migration, unemployment, rise of authoritarianism, disinformation and cybersecurity, inequality, terrorism, climate change and environmental problems.
Abraham Lincoln in his Congress speech said, “The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise-with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country”. Europe has the experience and resources to overcome the challenges that she is facing today. Most importantly Europeans have the will and iron in their blood to tackle the problems that they are facing. Not long ago, Europe was devastated by two world wars. But our leaders and people never gave up hope and took a decision to build a peaceful society. It is because of their effort we are able to lead a healthy and wealthy life today. So now we will take a decision and work towards a prosperous future. My vision for Europe is as follows.
The average age of a European worker is increasing. But Europe needs young workforce. My vision for Europe is where the migrants are skilled and contribute to Europe’s GDP, creating a win-win situation for everyone. Workforce will be skilled, and AI and robotics will be augmented in industries to increase efficiency benefitting the European society. A Europe, where people use renewable energy to power their life. A future where waste is reduced recycled and reused. A future, where people value the resources that this world provides them. Oceans will be free of plastic. Nature will be respected and protected. My vision is that in 2050 a Europe where technologies like Artificial Intelligence will be leveraged to cure diseases, reduce car accidents, curb the spread of fake news etc., A Europe where love and care for each other connect us and is not bound by nationalities, religion or any.
In 2050 European Countries will collaborate, share and learn best practices from each other. A democratic and inclusive Europe where its citizens can move freely across borders with ease. Finally Europe in 2050 will be a land flowing with milk and honey.
