Tevan Poghosyan

Mr. Tevan Poghosyan is the President of the International Center for Human Development (ICHD). Since May 2018 Mr. Poghosyan has been appointed as the Adviser to the President of Armenia on an ad hoc basis. For about two decades he has also been leading the Armenian Atlantic Association as its Executive President. In these capacities Mr. Poghosyan manages projects on priority policy issues such as effective governance, security, migration and Armenian-Turkish relations. He also liaises the Center with the government, the donor community and other stakeholders in civil society development. He has been successfully networking ICHD regionally and internationally, which resulted in the Center’s membership to PASOS, an international association of policy institutes and think tanks. The international dimension of Mr. Poghosyan’s activity includes also active participation in the Civil Society Forum of Eastern Partnership.
Mr. Poghosyan has extensive experience in reconciliation and track two diplomacy projects between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Armenia and Turkey. His research expertise is in civil society development, democratic governance, conflict management, and foreign relations.
From October 2012 to May 2017 Mr. Poghosyan was a Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. Since 2002 Mr. Poghosyan has been lecturing on conflict management and leadership at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University. In 1997-1999 he served as the NKR Public Affairs Office Director in Washington, DC. From 1996 to 1997 he worked at the Central Bank of Armenia, holding various managerial positions. He graduated from the American University of Armenia in 1996 with a Master’s Degree in Political Science and holds a Diploma in Computer Sciences from Yerevan State Engineering University.
