Philipp Brugner (*1987) holds a Master’s degree in Russian Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (major: Eastern European Politics) from the University of Vienna. From 02/2011-07/2011 he studied at the Alexander Herzen-University St. Petersburg to improve his Russian language skills. Currently Philipp receives further academic education in public policy economics at the Department for Continuing Education/University of Oxford (online course).
Since 2014 he is an EU Project Manager with the Austrian Centre for Social Innovation in Vienna, and has specialised on the research and innovation cooperation between the EU MS and the Eastern Partnership countries. He works with projects funded in Horizon 2020 and EuropeAid primarily.
Regarding his honorary activities, Philipp is actively involved in shaping the EU’s relation with the Eastern Partnership countries on the level of education, professional development, youth dialogue and youth leadership as a Young European Ambassador for EU NEIGHBOURS EAST (2016-17, 17-18, 18-19). Since 04/2018 he is moreover a team member of the youth board of the Policy Crossover Center (PCC): Vienna – Europe, an Austrian think tank on European politics. His articles on European politics have been published in DerStandard, DiePresse and Euractiv.
Philipp is fluent in German, English and Russian and is a proficient user of French.
